Learn More
A community-led foundation providing quality education, English learning and environmental programs to the children and families of Indonesia's Karimunjawa archipelago.
Our community-driven foundation, Yayasan Kejora Karimunjawa, was established in 2021 through a shared dream between local residents and foreigners who chose to make Karimunjawa their home: creating brighter futures through quality education.
Although we come from different backgrounds, we have become one Kejora Family, working together to strengthen education and opportunities for children and communities across the island.
As a nonprofit organization, our work is made possible through donations, partnerships, and the support of Stichting Kejora Karimunjawa in the Netherlands. From our bilingual, nature-based preschool and practical English courses for children and adults, to community projects and fundraising events, every initiative responds directly to the needs of Karimunjawa.
Whether by volunteering, funding a scholarship, or making a donation, everyone is invited to become part of the Kejora Family.
One mission: education rooted in Karimunjawa.

A bilingual, nature-based preschool for children aged 3–6, this year home to 59 young learners. Here, children grow through play while developing language, social skills, early math, creativity, and physical abilities in a safe, stimulating, and joyful environment together.

A bilingual, nature-based primary school launching in July 2026 for children aged 7–8. Students follow the national curriculum enriched with outdoor learning, project-based activities, and hands-on experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence, and care for their community and environment.

Learning English is fun, practical, and for everyone. Today, 35 children aged 7–12 learn through games, songs, and stories, while 134 adults join profession-focused classes that strengthen communication skills for hospitality, tourism, and other careers.

Learning at Kejora extends beyond our core education programs. Children develop their talents through dance, music, sports, and crafts, while parents and community members participate in SHEnergy workshops focused on wellbeing, creativity, and connection.

Our library opens every Sunday, welcoming children, families and visitors into a shared space of books, learning materials and quiet reading corners. It is a place where imagination meets community, and where every child can feel at home with a good story.
